From History to Living Tradition
Before Colombia had the “Coffee Axis,” the country’s first coffee seeds arrived through the roads of Villa de Leyva and Puente Nacional. The Spanish founder Andrés Díaz Venero de Leyva established both towns as agricultural centers — unknowingly paving the route for coffee’s arrival centuries later.
From these lands, Arabica coffee spread across Colombia. This is why we say: Colombian coffee was born in Santander.
Today, at Leyva Coffee Stay, guests can enjoy this legacy — staying in comfortable villas in Puente Nacional and visiting Finca Casa Blanca, a living coffee farm where the tradition continues.
